This webinar focuses on how a Professional Learning Community (PLC) model, as described by Bolam, Stoll et al, can be used to develop teacher understanding of, engagement with and use of HPL theory and practice. To build confidence in this transformative pedagogy, Sir William Borlase School used the Professional Learning Community to engage teachers and develop their own understanding of HPL. This gave their teaching community the opportunity to discuss in depth their practices of HPL, sharing ideas and thoughts of their ongoing progress in the Award programme. The webinar will place the school’s adoption of a PLC into context and give step-by-step guidance on how a similar approach might be developed in other schools.
